I decided to try out the dragon egg thing. IT'S LIKE TAMAGOTCHIS OKAY. Except less time consuming. And without failing and getting the Awkward Duck all the time. Click for me?

Coming from Texas, where there are cons every other month SOMEWHERE in the state, I didn't quite know what to expect from my first northern con. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing, and had a really, really good time. It wasn't a big convention like A-kon, more of a medium-sized one, but the events and panels were cool and many of the cosplayers had great costumes. People were polite about glomps and hugs or whatever, which was a refreshing change (having been tackled into a wall before, the experience of a person ASKING was awesome).

Going back a few months was when my friend Derek and I decided to cosplay Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh!. At first it would be Battle City normal Bakura and Tomb Robber Ancient Egyptian Bakura, buuuut a few things went awry and we ended up both being the light and dark versions of Battle City Bakura. After fighting with the blue and white striped shirt business (BECAUSE HI, THEY'RE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND WHEN YOU NEED ONE), we got down to work on the Millennium Ring.

How NOT to Make a Millennium Ring )

Friday Mirria and I were Kaidou and Kamio from Prince of Tennis, got a few nasty looks about it being an easy cosplay, and had fun despite them. :p We hit up some panels, the dealers room, etc. etc. We also ran in shorts and short sleeve shirts in 20 degree weather to the hotel. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO COLD IN MY LIFE. It was NUTS. Mirria likes the cold, but I am all for sweating in a Texas summer con instead of snow, ice, and frozen limbs, haha.

Not gonna go through things one by one in order: FMA Panel with the voice actors was entertaining, Vic Mignona's concert was good, cosplay skits were hilarious, the entire competition was short because of pre-judging which was great, cosplay panels were informative and inspiring.

Saturday was Bakura day. )

Sunday was lazy, but Derek, Mirria, and I stuck around to see a Greg Ayres panel.

I only bought three things, but I AM SO HAPPY WITH THEM + other cosplay pictures. )

I didn't get to see anything Chris Patton related, which was the only thing I wish I could have done, but there are other cons he'll be at I'm sure.

I need to be preparing for my adolescent psych final. D:

RIKKAAAAAAAAAI. WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION?

I should have put a racket in place of the sword, but I think I've wasted enough time.

Friday )

Saturday - TeniPuri Gathering )

Sunday - CLAMP Gathering/Monday )

Overall, I was really glad I could go. Having all the concerts in the middle of the day was a big hinderance since the dealers closed at six and the concerts started late, I didn't take as many pictures as I had intended to, and the lines were overwhelming, but I definitely had a good time.

Oh! And Jessica and I predicted that there would be a bunch of Haruhi cosplayers because of the S.O.S. Brigade, so we counted. Final count: 5 bunny Haruhis, 30 school girl Haruhis. We should have tried to count Ls too, but that would have been TOUGH.

Hahaha. Scaring my sister (+ friend as a result) with the stand-up of Spock will NEVER fail to cheer me up.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas, those who celebrate it. :]
